
Born January 22, 1922 in Wilkes County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Phillips and the late Stella Cardwell Phillips. Mrs. Spears was a business woman, a homemaker, and an avid gardener who at the age of 90 still took pride in maintaining her lawn. She was also a member of East Flat Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duel Spears, two sons; Ray and Rex Spears, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three brothers, and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are three sons; Gene, Danny, and Michael Spears, two daughters; Linda Sherill and Ann Wear, four brothers; Branson, Wade, Ralph and Carroll Phillips, one sister, Ina Mae Spears, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service celebrating Mrs. Spears life will be held Tuesday, August 07, 2012 at 2:00PM at East Flat Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Claude Suddreth. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Kincaid Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon, Ryan, Bryan, Allen, and Justin Spears, and Guy Sherrill.
