

She was born in Caldwell County to the late Euriel Posy Gragg and Elizabeth Gragg Greene. She was a member of Whitnel United Methodist Church where she and her husband, Robert Boyce Roberts, were married in 1969. She especially enjoyed her church family and the years of singing in the church choir. She had served on numerous committees and with the Whitnel Backpack Nutrition Program, having served as treasurer.
Jean graduated from Hudson High School and Caldwell Community College. She worked as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer in the Ultrasound department for many years at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and also at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, VA. She also worked in early years as a cosmetologist in Lenoir.
In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Hayes and Rebecca Lambert, two brothers Earl Spencer Gragg and Ford Gragg, step-father Russell Greene, step-son Mark Roberts, and two nephews.
Survivors include her loving husband, Boyce Roberts, sister Geneva Spears, step-daughter Phyllis Price and husband Dr. Jerry Price, dear nieces Libby, Gina, Teri, Shannon, and Edie, nephews Kent and Randy, sister-in-law Frances Raney and her family, dear friends, and other family members.
There will be no service at this time, but family and friends are welcome to call and visit at the home. There will be a graveside service for the family and friends at a later date.
