Mr. Jarman was born September 17, 1943 in Lenoir County to Frances Sydel Rouse and the late Alton Jarman. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Jarman.
Richard was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, He was hardworking and very talented. Richard had a variety of talents including woodworking-he could make just about anything you could possibly imagine. He did stained glass, picture taking as a hobby and an occupation, worked on cars and he loved to ride his motorcycle. He was at one time the president of the Goldwing Association. Richard retired from Dana Corporation where he was a tool grinding specialist and he attended Littlejohn United Methodist Church. He was a proud Navy veteran and will have military honors provided by the United States Navy.
In addition to his mother, who was left to cherish his memory include his wife, Martha Winchester Jarman, of the home, daughters, Jeanine Poarch and husband Richard of Conover, Wendee Stepp and husband David of Zebulon,a son, Richard Earl Jarman II and wife Robin of Provo, Utah, a sister, Diane Jarman of Kinston and a brother, Tom Jarman and wife Shirley of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved grandchildren, Richard E Jarman III and wife Rachel with a child (Richard Earl Jarman IV)) on the way, Dani Jarman Enkey and husband Phillip with children, Calista, Sansom, Evelyn and Abigale, Joshua E Jarman and wife Sydney with children Sophia and Raylee, Jordan W Jarman, Whitney F Jarman, Jake Stepp and wife Miranda with daughter, Lanee, Colby Stepp and wife Mandy with son Easton, Bailey Stepp, Sydney Stepp, Rylie Stepp, Jess Poarch and Gavin Poarch.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir funeral Home with Rev. Rich Irwin officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm service at Pendry’s Funeral Home. The meal after the service is being provided by the ladies of the Littlejohn's Church which have been so dear to this family for generations.
