Robert "Sug" Ivan Horton

He was born June 1, 1968 in Caldwell County to Mrs. Dorothy Roberta Felder Horton and the late Mr. Harold Leon Horton Sr. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Charles, and Clyde Horton; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and five uncles and one aunt.

Mr. Horton knew how to dress and was a fashionable man. He loved sports, especially basketball. Mr. Horton knew the Lord personally and always talked about him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Dorothy Roberta Felder Horton of Lenoir; brothers, Harold Leon Horton Jr. and wife Dwenda of Lenoir, and Roy Defern Horton of Charlotte; sisters, Dorothy Gaye of Lenoir, Brenda Lee Horton Johnson and husband Willie of Boone, and Elizabeth Qumiller Horton of Lenoir; uncle, Samuel Felder Sr. of Lenoir; and aunts, Zula Coles of Morganton and Marie Horton of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and thirty nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service will be held at Pendry’s Funeral Home with Rev. James Wilfong officiating. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may visit and view Mr. Horton between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021.
