He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Bobby is survived by his brother Thomas Nelson (his wife Diane), his sister Gail Honeycutt, his brother-in-law Don Phillips, his niece Ashley Whitener (husband Ellis), and his great-nephew Granville Whitener.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ollie Nelson, his sister Brenda Phillips, his brother Jimmy Nelson, and his nephew Tommy Phillips.
A graveside service will take place Monday, October 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. Dr. Steve Parker will officiate.
