Mr. Sheets was born in Smyth County, VA to the late Amos Albert Sheets and Mary Frances Teaster Sheets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Amos Sheets, Jr. and a sister Beulah L. Stephens.
Mr. Sheets worked in construction. He liked arts and crafts, building churches made out of match sticks. He really enjoyed watching wrestling and he enjoyed everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Sheets of Granite Falls; his son, Eric Sheets and wife Megan of Waynesville; his daughter, Katetina Marie Sheets of WV; a brother, Tracy Ray Sheets of Gastonia and a sister, Hazel Stephens and husband Benjamin of Lenoir.
There will be no services at this time.
The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mr. Sheets to the Shriners at 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, NC 28262.
