

Ruby Lee Cottrell Ledford, 91, of Lenoir passed away on February 29, 2016 at Lenoir Healthcare.
Mrs. Ledford was born in Caldwell County on October 20, 1924 to the late Leonard Cottrell and Belvia Hawkins Cottrell.
Mrs. Ledford was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to make quilts, work in the garden and can foods. Mrs. Ledford also enjoyed riding in the mountains and traveling. She was devoted to caring for her family. Her favorite food in all of the world was a tomato sandwich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Anderson Ledford, and one sister; Cora Mae Chandler.
Those left to cherish her memory include her one son; Larry Jones Ledford of Lenoir, daughters; Irene Ledford Tuttle and husband Larry of Lenoir, Kay Orrell-Kincaid and husband Michael of Hickory, Robin Anderson Ledford of Granite Falls, Hope Elaine Ledford of Lenoir, and one brother; Jones Cottrell of Lenoir. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; Amanda and Rebecca Tuttle, Brock and Blake Ledford, her great grandchildren; Kasen and Lincoln Tuttle and several special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Ledford will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Reverend Hugh Miller officiating. Burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Park will follow the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Butch Edmiston, Tom Cole, Aaron Kincaid, Ryan Kincaid, Larry Alley, Tim Marley, Greg Hawkins and Robert Triplett.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2016
at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
