

Mr. Hollar was born in Caldwell County to Loretta McRary Hollar of Lenoir and the late Victor Jay Hollar. He retired from Broyhill Furniture Indurstry and was a graduate of Caldwell Community College with honors in Culinary Arts. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir. Served as Choir Director for Hudson Church of God, Crossroads Community Church and Church of God Mission which is now Heritage Pentecostal Church and was involved with church youth programs and sang in several gospel groups over the years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Loved to travel and enjoyed spending time at the beach, camping and fishing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria “Jeannie” Setzer.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 27 years, Diane Greer Hollar of the home; his daughters, Shannon Hollar Timbs and husband Joel of Lenoir, and Olivia Kincaid of Lenoir; his brothers Harold Hollar and Steven “Pete” Hollar and wife Sharon, both of Lenoir; his sister, Reba Greene and husband Kenny of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Devin Smith, Levi Smith and Shelby Anderson, all of Lenoir; and his miniature poodle for 13 years “Rusty”.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 19, 2014 at Union Grove Baptist Church at 12:00 with Reverend Sam Craven and Reverend Howard Smith officiating and Miss Shelby Anderson to speak. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Devin Smith, Levi Smith, Trey Greene, Robert Greene, Chris Hollar and Jeremy Hollar.
