We live across the street from you & we've appreciated the tomatoes you have shared with us.  We are sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Billy at a career fair.  He was looking for a job when he was about 74 yrs. old.  Not that he needed the money, he just liked to work.  His latest position was librarian at South Plains College.  After a good discussion and then making introductions to Dr. Moore, Billy came to work for us to help us put together and document the Lubbock Center's  100th anniversary.  Billy seemed to be a great fit.  He had a great background of agriculture knowledge and his organization skills and ability to gather information while “interviewing” people truly helped us to share much of the fine research that has been done from the Lubbock Center.  Billy always shared his astonishment at the accomplishments and activity that had been quietly and persistently made through our scientific research that significantly helped the agriculture industry in West Texas and even throughout the world.  During this time, Peggy came to help us out as a receptionist and we really appreciated her help when we needed it.    

Billy really enjoyed working for us and truly admired what Texas A&M Ag. Research was all about.  We are blessed that he helped to prepare a great presentation to share about our 100yrs; assisted to put together the book that we printed and his tireless efforts of cataloging and organizing thousands of pictures and loading them on a website that is at https://lubbockarchive.tamu.edu/  (login – guest; password – guest) for us to keep current and available for future generations.
