Domia Dene (D.D.) Gillespie, 85, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born July 8, 1930 and grew up in Pettit. D.D. was a resident of Dimmit, Texas and was retired as a truck driver, have worked many years at Goodpasture, Inc. D.D. is survived by one son, Rev. Darren Gillespie and wife Paula of Radcliff, Kentucky. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Chance, Shelby, Jonah, and Julieann Gillespie, all who live in Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his father, Clemon Gillespie; mother, Mattie Kate Hagan; brothers, Carol Ray, Gerald and Frank Gillespie; sisters, Pauline Burkett and Ruth Simpson; and two infant daughters, Rene’ and Joye Gillespie. Rev. Darren Gillespie will hold a small graveside memorial at the City of Levelland Cemetery on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 11:00 am.
