Frances McGuire

Funeral services for Frances McGuire, 76, of Shallowater will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Abernathy Church of Christ, Abernathy, Texas with Eben Emerson and Coby LaCroix, officiating. Burial will follow in the Anton Cemetery, under the direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. Her body will lie in state at the church from noon on Wednesday until service time. She died on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Lubbock.

Frances was born on October 23, 1937 in Flagg, Texas to J. T. and Maureta (Eudaly) Boswell. She graduated from Monterrey High School in Lubbock. On November 9, 1957, she married Derl McGuire. Frances owned and operated Tall TexAnns, a specialty woman’s clothing store in Lubbock, Austin and Odessa. She was a member of the Lawrence Avenue Church of Christ in Anton, Texas.

Suvivors include her husband, Derl McGuire of Shallowater, two sons: Wayne McGuire of Abernathy and Dean McGuire of Midlothian and a daughter, Darla McClure of Henrietta, Texas; a brother, Glen Boswell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and a sister, Arlene Searcy of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
