James Kenneth Wright

Funeral services for Kenneth Wright, 85, of Levelland will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, December 22, 2012 at College Avenue Baptist Church, Levelland with Reverend Merle Fulmer, Lubbock, Texas officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. He died on Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Levelland.

Kenneth was born on December 27, 1926 in Royal, Oklahoma to James Franklin and Cara Bell (Kay) Wright. A graduate of Lubbock High School, he enlisted in the US Army in June of 1945. Upon his discharge from the service in January of 1947, he moved to Levelland. He and Nora Marie Riley were married on June 17, 1950 in Lubbock. Kenneth went of work for Mobil Oil Corporation and retired after 39 years of service. He and Marie were charter members of College Avenue Baptist Church. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Wardell Wright and Stanley Wright.

Survivors include: his wife, Marie Wright of Levelland, a son: Michael Wright and his wife, Cindy of Lubbock; two sisters: Christine Campbell of San Antonio, Texas and Faye Brown of Nederland, Texas and two grandchildren: Ashley Cross and her husband, Cody and Paige Wright.
