Judy Shockley Burnett

Funeral services for Judy Burnett, 67, of Lubbock and formerly of Sundown will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at George Price Funeral Chapel with Joey Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Sundown cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. She died on December 17, 2013 in Lubbock.

Judy was born on November 21, 1946 in Big Spring, Texas to William Thomas and Roxie Faye (Puckett) Shockley. She was raised at Knott, Texas and graduated from Sands High School in Ackerly, Texas. Judy married Charles Burnett on June 7, 1969 in Knott, Texas. They moved to Sundown in 1974 from Lubbock and lived there until November of this year. Judy kept children for different families in Sundown and also managed the Sundown Housing Authority. She was preceded in death by her son: Billy Burnett on June 1, 1990.

Judy is survived by her husband, Charles Burnett, her daughter, Melissa Burnett, twin sisters: Ethel Richardson and Roxie Kennedy, two grandchildren: Kimberly Ortiz and Miranda Ortiz and two great grandchildren: Zadon Florence and Judith Avery Florence.
