June Weaver

Yvonne June Keys Weaver, 92 passed form this life on October 27, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Levelland. Reverend Jesse Hodge and Reverend Ruby Moultrie will be officiating. Visitation will be held at George Price Funeral Home on Wednesday , October 30, 2013 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

June was born August 1, 1920 in Slaton, Texas to Arthur and Ruth Keys. She graduated from Slaton High School and attended Texas Tech where she met her future husband, Woodrow Weaver from Levelland. They were married August 28, 1939.

June was active in business endeavors with her husband which included Woody’s Roller Rink, 1939-1950, residential building, plus numerous apartments. She was active as a member and leader in various are classes and events. Arts and crafts, her yard and flower beds, along with her home and family were among her pursuits. She was a long time member of the First Methodist Church in Levelland.

June was preceded in death by her husband, by her parents, sisters, Mary Imogene Hutchins and Perry Hoot, a great grand-daughter, Tiffini Weaver and a daughter in law, Elva Weaver.

She is survived by her three sons, Ted of Colorado Springs, CO., Fred of Amherst, Ohio and Woody and wife Sheryl of Tyler, Texas. Ten grand-children, nine great grand-children and five great grand-children. Also a brother, Russell and his wife Fran from Slaton and three nieces. Serving as Paul Bearers will be the grand-children: Freddy Weaver, Karen Weaver Roseiz, Helen Weaver Traylor, Kathy Weaver Spence, Jackie Weaver, Woody Weaver Jr., Kim Weaver Carnes, Jim Weaver, Carole Weaver Byers, Ryan Pumphrey and Nicole Johnson.
