Kay Atchison

Funeral services for Kay Atchison, 77, of Levelland will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10 A.M. at First United Methodist Church of Levelland with Rev. Rusty Dickerson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. at George Price Funeral Home. She died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Lubbock.

Kay was born on February 5, 1936 in Knox City, Texas to Paul and Willie Russell. She was a longtime resident of Levelland and graduated from Levelland High School in 1954. She married Neil Atchison on August 23, 1953 in Levelland and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2005. She worked for Anderson Grain & LEMCO Industries for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church-Levelland and had played violin with the Lubbock Symphony . She enjoyed all types of music.

She is survived by two sons; Billy and Jimmy Atchison and his wife, Laura: all of Levelland, one daughter; Diana Tankersley of Midland, one brother; Dr. Paul Russell of Portland, OR., her former daughter in law, Jill Atchison of Levelland, and eight grandchildren; Jeremy Atchison, Megan Stanley and her husband Mark, Leigh Kay and Aaron Atchison, Laranda McMurry and her husband Chris, Jason Tankersley and his wife Sarah, Ami Wheeler and her husband Chad, Aiden Trevino and six great grandchildren; Blakely Neil McMurry, Randal Floyd Willis, Nathan, Lance and Lily Tankersley and Cameron Wheeler.
