Lorena Martha Welch

Lorena Welch passed away on June 22, 2014 at the age of 94. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastors Michael Holmes and Lee Weldon Stephenson, officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery, Levelland, Texas, under the direction of George Price Funeral Home.

Lorena was born to Adolph and Alma Wenzel in Clifton, Texas on May 18, 1920. She spent her childhood years in Wilson and Brownfield, Texas. She married Nelson Welch on June 25, 1946 in Estancia, New Mexico. They moved to Levelland in 1951. Nelson preceded Lorena in death on March 13, 2012. Lorena was a homemaker and a baker extraordinaire of Polish rolls, pies, bread, cookies and cakes. She was a member of the Levelland Garden Club and one of the original members of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Lorena is survived by her daughter, Patricia Daniel and husband Larry of Gatesville, son, Bill Welch and wife Vicky of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Ricky Daniel and wife Stephanie, Becky Daniel, Natalie Matus and husband Scott, Brenton Welch and wife Tanis; five great-grandchildren, Sierra Bruington, Derek Daniel, Evelyn Daniel and Kamdyn Matus and Beckham Welch. The family would like to suggest memorials to be made to a charity of your choice.
