

Funeral services for Lorene Ivey, 97, of Lubbock and formerly of Levelland will be 1:00 pm, Friday, August 31, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Levelland with Dr. Sammy Elliott, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 30, 2012. She died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Lubbock.
Lorene was born on August 10, 1915 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Charles and Sally (Folks) McInturff. She married Talmage Ivey on September 15, 1933 in Levelland and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2001. She was a longtime Hockley County resident having lived in the Pettit Community until 1970 when she and Talmage moved into Levelland. After moving to town, Lorene began working at Your Shop, where she worked for several years. In October of 2010, it became evident that she could no longer live alone, so she moved to Grand Court in Lubbock. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Levelland, Texas.
Survivors include her son: Rev. Charles L. Ivey and his wife, Micki of Plano, Texas and her daughter: Jerrie Reding of Levelland: a brother: C. R. McInturff of Amarillo, Texas and a sister: Bobbie Ketch, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Oma Higgenbotham and Gracie Price; three brothers: Earl, Claude, and Don McInturff and a son in law: Gerald Reding.
