Maria Cruz Fuentes

Maria Cruz Fuentes, 87, of Levelland passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. A family visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church with burial to follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Maria was born May 3, 1928 in Ruidosa, Texas to Leon and Felipe (Machuca) Melendez. She was married to Luis E. Fuentes and they celebrated 71 years of marriage in February. A longtime resident of Levelland, Maria enjoyed being with her family and had a great faith in God. She was preceded in death by her parents, children, Maria Luisa Fuentes and Luis Raul Fuentes; and brothers, Manual and Felix Melendez. She is survived by her husband, Luis E. Fuentes; children, Virginia (Robert) Escalante, Estella Fuentes, Emma Morales, Angie Fuentes, Sofia (Jessie) Mercado, Senaida (Rick) Payne, Betty (Rene) Torres, David (Hope) Fuentes, and Linda (Richard) Frazier; sister, Candelaria Valencia; and 16 grandchildren.
