Marie Lorette May Winfrey

Marie Lorette Winfrey of Sundown went to meet her Savior on August 21st at the age of 90. She was born April 6, 1921 in Comanche County to John Zebedee and Jennie Katherine May. She passed away peacefully on Sunday after a brief illness.

Funeral Services are under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas, and will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 10:00 am at Fairview Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas with Reverend Randy Winfrey officiating.

She married Earl Winfrey on September 7th, 1940 and moved to Sundown in 1952. She was a homemaker and owned her own business providing janitorial services for many years. Marie loved to cook and was well known for her homemade pies. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she had many wonderful friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and each of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Lila Tarrant, and by several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Merlene Ellis for the wonderful care that Marie received in the last few weeks of her life and to the Sundown EMS for the many trips that they made to her house over the last few months.
