Melvin Hal Marcy

Funeral services for Melvin Marcy, 76, of Levelland will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Smyer with Rev. Eugene Culpepper, pastor and Rev. Billy Capps of Cumby, Texas officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. He died Monday, November 15, 2010 in Lubbock.

He was born on April 13, 1934 in Lubbock, Texas to John M. and Lovenus T. Curry Marcy. He moved to Hockley County in 1937 from Lubbock County. He farmed near Ropesville until his retirement in 1996.

He married Lola Bennight on December 19, 1953 in Clauene, Texas. Melvin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smyer, Texas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenna Marcy in 1990 and his brother, Glenn Marcy in 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Marcy of Levelland, Texas; a daughter: Donna Marcy of Smyer, Texas; and a sister, Naomi Bullin of Levelland, Texas and two grandsons: Cory Benson and Levi Fikes.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Rodger Bullin, T. J. Capps, Bucky Demel and Trevor Tucek.
