Opal Cora Adams

Funeral services for Opal C. Adams, 92, of Levelland will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2013 at Second Baptist Church, Levelland with Rev. Michael Holster, pastor, Second Baptist Church, Levelland, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 4:00pm. She died Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Levelland.

Opal was born on September 12, 1921 in Vanoss, Oklahoma to David Vernon and Fannie (Cross) Soloman. She married Hearl “Red” Adams on November 9, 1940 in Marlowe, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son: Andrew Adams and his wife Lynda of Leesburg, Florida and her daughter Sue Abshier and her husband Robert of Wagoner, Oklahoma; two sisters: Jewell Bible of Hobbs, New Mexico and Mildred Simmons of New Castle, Oklahoma; a brother: Vernon Soloman of Hobbs, New Mexico; four grandchildren: Mark Adams, Daniel Morris, Steven Adams, and Katie Peoples; five great grandchildren: Kenady Adams, Sean Morris, Lexi Peoples, Luke Peoples, and Devon Morris; grandchildren by marriage; Melinda Abshier, Brandy Abshier, and Lacy Simpson; and great grandchildren by marriage, Keenan Abshier, Kristian Wolfe,Kameron Wolfe, and Breyden Simpson.
