Ray was always so kind and welcoming to me as I became a part of this family. I'll remember his sense of humor and good nature that made him so likable and fun to be around. I could tell he loved his family and he loved his Saviour, and there is no doubt in my mind that the feeling was mutual. Simply said, he made the most of his short life and will be dearly missed.

Sharlotte, So very sorry about your Dad.  Patti and I will be keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.  I wish we could come but unfortunately can't.  I have been thankful through the years for all the time and energy your Dad put into the Royal Rangers at Jal.  It was the best program I've ever been a part of.  I even have an award bible with his signature in the front.  Give my regards to your mother.   Lynn

The first time grandpa went into the hospital, about two years ago, he had been in a coma and not long after he had woken up I began to sing this song to him and at the chorus with all the strength he could muster, he began to sing with me. This is my song and prayer until we see him again! Love you Grandpa

Dear Clarice and Family,
My wife Becky and I were privileged to become acquainted with you and Ray when we served as Youth Pastors at Glad Tidings in Hobbs.  You were so kind to and loving us during that time.

We were both saddened to learn of Ray's homegoing.  He was a very special man who touched our lives deeply.  We send our condolences and love.  May the God of all comfort and grace be with you.

Paula called to tell me about Ray Dowe. I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your lifetime mate and husband. It is with fond memories that I remember our times at Whiteface Assembly of God church. WHERE HAVE THE YEARS GONE??? Although our lives took different turns and I haven't seen you since our innocent youth years, you have always remained in my fondest memories. Ray Miller is a great man. I have had the honor of knowing Ray and Clarice for several years. Friends like him are rare .
 The angels in Heaven are rejoicing today. Ray has gone home. I am sure he has already started telling stories and making others laugh .

Dad,  I sit here alone in my room and I am so overwhelmed, I MISS YOU SO MUCH!  Yes, I know that you are healed and sitting in the presence of our Lord BUT my heart is broken.  And yes, I know The Lord will walk beside me each day BUT I already miss our talks, your reassurance, your friendship and your voice.  And yes, I know as I stay close to the Lord, I will see you again, BUT now all our plans for future trips, talks while watering the gardens, evenings spent playing dominoes will NEVER happen again.   

I will always have the memories of the camping trips, the fabulous vacation around this great USA (of which my daughters have also experienced), and the trips to Six Flags and the stunt we pulled on Aunt Melba.  The time you took to bring other things into our lives, like the bird avery, having WHISTLER by the dinner table to serenade us, and the horses (Rusty, Dolly and Star) that we would ride all the way through town or go over to the pits and run them down one hill and up the other.

I will say my final goodbye to you in 36 hours and I really don't know how I'm going to be able to do that.  By the grace and peace of God, I will go on, down this road of life and be the example of God's love to those around me, just as you would want.   I know you have a perfect heart and lungs now and can imagine you singing with the angels, so keep on singing with the angels and I will continue to sing God's praises here on earth for a little longer.

When I was around 8 or 9, my uncle Ray got me an old antique player piano. Together, we restored it, painted it, and got it working again (of course, Ray did most of the work).  Through the 28 years that followed, I never became a master pianist, but I have always cherished that piano and the time I spent restoring it with Ray.

Dad,
Hey buddy, I hear somebody!  The many times you taught by your interaction with family and friends, even many strangers.  I have looked back today and seen those same qualities in my life as I reflect.  "I love you son."  Everything from special dove hunts, rabbits, deer, throughout our earlier times together outdoors, even little league baseball coach "The Indians" and Royal Rangers, a boys' church organization, and praying around a campfire, I heard "I love you son."  My work habits I saw in you through the years as I reflect today.  I felt I had pride to do through the years for my family and live to reach out and touch others and interact to make a difference because I knew I would hear "I love you son."  My family means everything to me as I have seen the same in your life.  I try to project my love to my family and be a blessing to them.  I heard, "I love you son."  In all my dreams of being all I can be, I will always hear, "I love you son."  I am so blessed to have heard those to be your last words to me:  "I love you son."  I love you, Dad.  -- Stacy

Ray Dowe has been in my life since I was 10 or 11 years old, I am 70 now. They married when I was 12. So he has sure been a brother to me. He was a rock for our family. Always helping out when Mama and Daddy were sick or at their funerals. We enjoyed the trips they made with you kids to a lot of different states we lived in. We even took all of you to Canada one time. Ordered a big salad and all they brought us was a hugh bowl of lettuce and 2 little packages of crackers. We laughed about that for years. One trip they saw our first snowfall in June in WY. So we have had fun with all of you through the years. He will be missed. We loved him.



  I have been thinking about your dad and your family a lot the last few hours.  
     I would love to be able to make the trip to Lubbock, but my job obligations will not allow me.  Monday is the first day of school for us and I am the principal at my high school.  
     When I was 7 years old, you dad hauled me up to a Royal Ranger Pow Wow in Ruidoso.  I was saved at that one of the evening camp fire meetings. It would be very hard for me to express how important your dad was to me.
    We will be praying for you guys.
