Ruby Railey

Funeral services for Ruby Railey, 84, of Levelland, will be at 2:00p.m. at the Cactus Drive Church of Christ with Michael Blunt officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Mrs. Railey passed away on Wednesday January 15, 2014.

Thelma Ruby Adkisson was born on August 13, 1929 in Walter, OK to George Franklin Adkisson and Bettie Elizabeth (Lamb) Adkisson. She married James H. Railey on June 18, 1947. She worked in the meat markets of Piggly Wiggly and Furr’s grocery stores.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Railey; brothers, J.H. Adkisson, D.L. Adkisson, Earnest Adkisson, Lloyd Ad-kisson, Wilbur Adkisson; sisters, Zelda Adkisson, Naomi Feizel, Ruth Holloway; and great-granddaughter, Kayla Bradford.

Survivors include her daughter, Faye Blount and husband Tommy of Levelland; son, Rickey Railey of Midland; grandchildren, Ty Railey, Michael Blount and his wife, Shanna, Melissa Constancio and her husband, Trine, Susan Christian and her husband, Rob; brother, Jerald Adkisson; sister-in-law, Odessa Adkisson and Thelma Adkisson; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Children’s Home of Lubbock.
