

Verna Musslewhite, 93, of Levelland passed away on September 2, 2015 at Covenant Hospital surrounded by her family. Family visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at George Price Funeral Home. Services will be at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, September 7, 2015, at 10:00 am. Burial will be under the direction of George Price Funeral Home. She was born on November 19, 1921 in Jenks, Oklahoma to Bob and Verna McCutchin. She grew up in Gladewater, Texas. Verna attended Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas. She married Paul Musslewhite in 1941 in Tyler, Texas. They moved to Levelland in 1944. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, a son Billy Paul, three brothers Bob, Jack and Sonny McCutchin, and one sister Emma Stephens. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Whitley and Nancy Joplin and husband Ross of Levelland; six grandchildren, Bill Whitley of South Padre, Krisann George and husband Kevin of Prosper, Jason Whitley and wife Debbie of Levelland, Kathleen Hurst and husband Jeff of Paris, Texas, Richard Ellis and wife Carrie of Levelland, and Kami Musslewhite Pri-Tal and husband Oded of Israel; thirteen great-grandchildren, Dustin Whitley, Reegan George, Brayden George, Britten George, Kallie Whitley, Leah Whitley, Korah Whitley, Erin Hurst, Becca Hurst, Hannah Hurst, Jeffrey Hurst, Jr., Austin Ellis, and Nathan Ellis one great great-grandchild, Gunner Whitley; three brothers, Richard McCutchin and wife Shirley, George McCutchin and wife Delores, and Pat McCutchin and wife Nancy. The family would like to thank Levelland Nursing Home and Covenant Hospital for their excellent care.
