Zeldon Joel Davidson Jr.

Zeldon Joel Davidson Jr. passed away in Lubbock on May 14, 2015, after a brief illness. Family visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015, from 2-4 PM at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, May 18, 2015, at Second Baptist Church with burial following in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Joel was born in Levelland, Texas on December 8, 1944 to Zeldon (Slim) Davidson and Maude Davidson. He spent two years in Vietnam with the U.S. Army in service to his country. He married Saundra Hankins on November 27, 1968, who preceded him in death. He married Sandra Thetford on October 12, 1988. He retired from Amoco after 26 years of service and spent some time in Arizona, and ten years on Lake Brownwood before moving back to Levelland in 2005. Joel was very active at Second Baptist Church and enjoying his grandchildren’s activities. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Davidson; children, Brian (Allison) Davidson of McKinney, Texas, Terry (Chuck) Colburn of Gurnee, IL, Cary (Krenna) Thetford of Arlington, Texas, and Mike Thetford of Plainview, Texas; sister, Mona Lawson of Levelland, Texas; brother, Ron Davidson of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren, Sandy Davidson, Kevin Colburn, Andy Colburn, Kade (Somer) Thetford, Keighen Thetford, Karis Thetford, Jordan Thetford, Austen Thetford, and Taytem Thetford; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Zeldon Joel Davidson, Sr., Rebecca Maude, and Sandy Davidson. The family suggests charitable donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
