Adele Famularo

Adele Famularo, wife of the late James A. Famularo, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on August 16, 2020. She died at age 83, after living with the debilitating effects of Parkinson's disease for over 13 years. Adele was the youngest daughter of the late Matteo and Lena (Pusateri) Sansone. In death, she joins her sisters Rosaline ("Lil") DeMarco and Augustina ("Teeny") Antelitano, and her brothers Augustus ("Ste"), Joseph and Anthony Sansone.

Adele was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA. In her twenties, Adele met Jim, the love of her life, while on vacation in Atlantic City, NJ. After Adele and Jim married, they purchased a home in Levittown, PA, where Adele lived for over 40 years.

Adele was a devoted mother. She was not a mom who sat on the sidelines watching. Whether it was jumping waves in the ocean, ice skating on the lake, or playing badminton in the backyard, Adele was right there alongside her kids laughing and having fun. Adele taught her daughters that girls can do anything boys can do and probably better. She showed them what it means to be open-minded, accepting of others, and loving. Adele taught her daughters to value and celebrate their Italian heritage, and the importance of carrying on family traditions. Adele was an amazing cook and instilled in her children a love of food and cooking.

Later in life, Adele moved to Georgia to be near her daughter, Maria Romesburg, son-in-law Michael, and granddaughters Becca and Vanessa. Adele loved being involved in their routine activities as well as celebrating their important milestones. When her health began to decline, Adele moved to Maine where she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Lisa Famularo, son-in-law Michael Green, and granddogs Rocco and Moxie.

Throughout her life, Adele was the happiest when she was with her immediate and extended family. She cherished family gatherings and always made sure they were filled with singing, dancing, laughter and lots of food. Over the years, she captured these special moments through photographs. In recent years, looking at old photos and reminiscing about family get-togethers brought her joy. She cherished cards, letters and photos she received from her nieces and nephews who she adored.

Adele was known for being sassy and saying what is on her mind (#nofilter). Even in her final days, her wise cracks had everyone laughing.
