Albert M. Benson

Albert M. Benson died on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home. He was 69. Born in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, Mr. Benson moved to Bucks County 21 years ago and has been residing in Bensalem for the past several years. Until his retirement in 2002, Mr. Benson was employed with Acme Markets for many years. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his parents, Anna (Gawronski) and Robert Benson, his grandson, John Hecker and his brother, Joseph Benson. Beloved husband of 21 years to Gloria (Henderson), Mr. Benson was the loving father of Michelle Batzig of Levittown, Nancy Ciccone, Lynda Gleisner of Croydon and Jeanne Shaw of Atco, NJ. He was the proud grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 2. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Patricia Reis, Hannah Fry, Kathleen Benson and Thomas Benson and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to a graveside service on Monday, 9:30 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown.
