

Andrew James Keyso Andrew James Keyso of Levittown, Pa., died on January 20, 2013, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 71. Born and raised in Jonestown, Cass Township, Pa., Andy graduated from Nativity B.V.M. High School in 1959. After four years of service in the U.S. Air Force, he was employed with U.S. Steel Fairless Works for 30 years as a motor inspector and crane operator. He won numerous awards at U.S. Steel for his efficiency and cost-saving suggestions. Andy was a member of United Steelworkers of America Local 4899, where he served as trustee and assistant grievance man; was a former labor representative for United Way; a past member of the board of directors with Volunteers in Teaching Alternatives (VITA); a member and former trustee and treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; past president, trustee, and treasurer of the local chapter of the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR); and was a member and committeeman in the Falls Township Democratic Party. After he retired from U.S. Steel, Andy coordinated a retraining program for displaced steelworkers, helping them find alternative employment. Andy was a devoted husband, father of four, and grandfather of two. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, golfing, tending his flower garden, and vacationing with his family in North Wildwood, N.J. Family and friends will remember him always as a hardworking, honest, and ethical man with a quick wit, a gift for conversation, and a strong Catholic faith. Andy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy; a son, Andrew Jr. (Kim Koch) of Falls Church, Va.; a daughter, Ruth Keyso (Dale Paul) of Vernon Hills, Ill.; a daughter, Christine Harvie (Bob) of Fallsington, Pa.; a son, James of Toms River, N.J.; two grandchildren, Brendan and Emma Harvie; four sisters, Joan Miller, Dorothy Smolinsky, Mary Wheeler, and Tina MacCready; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews. Andy was predeceased by a brother, John, formerly of Levittown. Andy's children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 am at Saint Joseph the Worker Church, 9172 New Falls Road, Fallsington, PA followed by Rite of Committal in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
