

Anna Mae Baxter (nee Bahman) of Levittown passed away Monday October 8, 2018 after a short illness in St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old.Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA; she became a resident of Levittown in 1963. She was one of the original members of Hope Lutheran Church in Levittown where she enjoyed the worship and fellowship. She held many jobs in her lifetime. She worked at SKF as an inspector for the ball bearing process and that is where she found the love of her life Richard, Sr. After marriage she took on the job she loved the most, being a housewife, which she did with extreme love and excellence. After her children were all in school she held many jobs which included being a cleaner at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School in Morrisville, eventually becoming matron until her retirement. She also worked at the brand new entertainment establishment Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA where she was the 23rd employee hired. At the time they had their 25th anniversary they contacted her and asked if she had things from the opening and she gave them her badge, written papers about the menu and one of the first menus used which was placed in the time capsule.She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph and Mabel Bahman; sister Joan M. Emme (Jack); brother William J. Bahman and her beloved youngest son, Curtis W. Baxter. Anna Mae is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 65 years, Richard R. Baxter Sr., Levittown; her daughter Deborah A. Gallagher (George), Levittown; son Richard Baxter Jr. (Elizabeth), Morrisville; daughter-in-law Alice Baxter (widow of Curtis), Langhorne; godson and nephew Wayne W. Emme (Cathy), Yardley. She has six grandchildren, Justin R. Baxter (Jennifer); Erin E. Baxter; Daniel J. Baxter (Kelly); Jamie L. Baxter; Ellen D. Bullene (Patrick); Christopher J. Baxter; and two great nephews, John W. Emme (Danielle) and Jeffrey Emme. She was also devoted to her great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her brother in law Alan Cartacki, her sister and brother in law Joanne & Leo Medernoch and many nieces, nephews and friends who had become part of her family. Family and Friends are invited to attend the viewing on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018, 10:30 am, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2600 Haines Road, Levittown PA. Interment will follow at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown. There will be no calling hours on Friday morning.In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations in her memory to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th & Civic Center Blvd., Development Office, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
