

Arthur A. Buben, 88 of Sea Isle City, New Jersey and formerly of Philadelphia passed away suddenly on November 22, 2018.He is survived by Catherine Heir Buben, his loving wife of 64 years, and his daughter Cathy Boone, Fairless Hills, PA; and brother-in-law George Ominski, Lititz, PA. He was predeceased by brothers Alvin Buben and Arnold Buben, and brother-in-law John Ominski. He will also be sadly missed by the many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and extended family that were a major part of his life.He was born on August 5, 1930 in Philadelphia and grew up in the Port Richmond section. A graduate of LaSalle College High School, Art played for the championship winning Venango Bears football team. He went on to earn a BA degree in business from LaSalle University and a MBA from Temple University.Following graduation from LaSalle University, he worked for the FBI in Philadelphia and then served as a Lieutenant in the Intelligence Service of the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a senior financial executive with Glaxo Smith Kline including serving as Treasurer of its consumer products affiliate, Menley & James. After his retirement from GSK, Art became owner and CEO of Edward P. Dolbey & Company, Yeadon PA.An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Wild Turkey Hunt Club of Yardley, and enjoyed vacationing in Sea Isle City spending most days fishing in the Delaware Bay. He was also a long time member of the Union League of Philadelphia. Art enjoyed his many vacation cruises with family and friendsMass will be celebrated at St. Andrew's Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA on Thursday, November 29th at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours are 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LaSalle College High School, 8605 Cheltenham Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA.
