

Bernard Joseph Simon of Newtown passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, October 29, 2015. He was 85. He was retired from the Canadian National Railroad and the United States Army. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling and was a member of the Hickory Haven Sportsmen Club of Sinnemahoning. Mr. Simon was a former Scoutmaster with Troop 124 at Queen of the Universe Church and involved with Troop 123 at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, both in Levittown, PA. Preceded in death by his brother John B. Simon and sister Agnes Mary Krueger both of Toledo, Ohio, he is survived by his sister Joanna Droleskey of Toledo, OH, Clara (Robert) Nowak of Genoa, OH and sister-in-law DoLores Simon of Perryburg, OH. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years Joyce Ann (nee Cumiskey) of Newtown, PA; his sons Thomas of Mt. Airy, MD, James (Constance) of Levittown, PA, William (Katherine) of Wormleysburg, PA, Michael (Theresa) of Furlong, PA, Paul (Amanda) of Raeford, NC; his daughters Jeanne (Kenneth) Dawson of Levittown, PA and Patricia (Sean) Hooper of Dallas, TX; 24 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and his former daughter-in-law Donna Simon. The family would like to thank Eleanor's Garden Hospice for their excellent care and support during a difficult time. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment is private.
