With hearts full of love, we celebrate the remarkable life of Brian Paul Oswald , who passed peacefully at home in Langhorne on Thursday, December 11th, surrounded by his family. At 54, Brian left this world as he lived in it — with grace, humor, and boundless devotion to those he loved.
Born on February 18, 1971, in Lakewood, New Jersey, Brian grew into a man whose kindness, patience, and wit touched everyone he met. A proud 1989 graduate of Neshaminy High School, it was there he met his lifelong partner, Marni. Together they shared 36 beautiful years, 28 of them as husband and wife, building a family and a life filled with joy.
Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Temple University’s College of Engineering, and his talents extended far beyond his profession. He was a builder of everything and anything, a musician who filled rooms with guitar and song, and a man whose personality was dry, sarcastic, and brightened every gathering.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Marni; his children Alexis, Ashley, and Jason; his dog Lily; his brother Stephen (Judy); sister Linda (Ed); brother-in-law Douglas; and many nieces and nephews. He now reunites with his mother Elizabeth, father August, and sister Stephanie, who preceded him in death.
Above all, Brian’s greatest passion was his family. He poured his heart into holidays, birthdays, vacations down the shore, Pocono trips, and cherished visits from Lucy and Maeve. Whether spending endless hours outside with his children and friends or simply being present for every moment, Brian embodied what it meant to be a devoted father, husband, brother, son, and friend.
Brian’s courage was extraordinary. For four and a half years, he faced stage 4 colon cancer with strength, humor, and an unshakable spirit. Surrounded by friends and neighbors who became like family, he never lost sight of what mattered most: love.
As Brian often reminded us, “Peace and love — peace and love.” His legacy is one of joy, resilience, and unwavering devotion, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A visitation will take place Saturday December 20, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA 19056 with a memorial service starting at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , honoring Brian’s lifelong compassion and generosity.
