Catherine E. Downing 93, of Fairless Hills, Pa passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Chandler Hall, Newtown, Pa. Catherine will be joining her love of 66 years Richard Downing and her son Richie. Catherine graduated from Westminster College in 1947 with a degree in Education. She taught for The Pennsbury School District for 25 years. She loved to knit, read, and travel. She was also involved with the Better Breathers of St. Mary Medical Center. Cathy is survived by her four children, David S. Downing (and his wife Cindy), Sue Downing, James Downing, and Ann Haffley (and her husband Rob), and three grandchildren, Brenna, Breanne, and Brandon.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cathy's care givers during the past 3 years.The service for Catherine Downing will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills, 840 Trenton Rd, Fairless Hills, Pa. 19030. Friends and Family are welcome to visit from 2:30-3:00pm, before the service. Donations in Cathy's honor may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills, SPCA, or a donation of your choice.
