Charise Vee Custer, age 65, passed away on June 1, 2025, at Bucks Jefferson Hospital surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Morrisville, she was the heart of her family—a woman whose love knew no limits and whose strength left a legacy we will never forget.
Charise was the cherished daughter of Lillian MacWalters and Joseph Perkins. She was a woman of deep intuition and resilience, whose wisdom she earned through experience, not just education. Her true education was found in her boundless compassion, her radiant humor, and the countless lives she touched along the way.
She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, Charise would give you the shirt off her back and make you feel like one of her own. She had a bold spirit—fearless in her beliefs and unbothered by judgment—yet her heart was soft, wide open, and full of grace.
She loved with intention. Her grandchildren were the joy of her world, and every moment she spent with them was a treasure she held close. Her favorite pastimes included talking with her family, listening to audiobooks, and simply being present in the lives of those she adored.
Charise was preceded in death by her beloved children Randy and Brenda Custer, and her precious grandchildren Little Bren and Little Joel. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited in peace.
She is survived by her husband, Randal Custer; her daughters, Valerie Hoskins and Elizabeth Custer; her son, Joseph Perkins; and her adoring grandchildren: Brandon Custer, Ashley Park, McKayla Custer, Ryan Renzi, Owen Hoskins, Isaac Custer and Annabella Custer.
Charise’s legacy lives on in the love she so freely gave and in the family she leaves behind. Her laugh, her stubborn wit, her fierce loyalty, and her enormous heart—“as big as the moon”—will echo through our lives forever.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her presence surrounds us in the stories we tell, the lessons we carry, and the love we continue to share. We will miss her always, but we will carry her with us—fierce, beautiful, and eternal.
A visitation for Charise will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM.
