Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1950, Chuck lived most of his life in Levittown. He was a graduate of Council Rock High School, Class of 1969. He went on to study art at Bucks County Community College and the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia.
Chuck was a true "jack of all trades" who had the remarkable ability to build or fix almost anything. He dedicated a significant portion of his early career to working as a Maintenance Mechanic for the Jones Apparel Group in Bristol and Environmental Tectonics Corporation in Southampton, Pennsylvania. Prior to his retirement, Chuck was responsible for maintaining buildings at Woods Services in Langhorne.
Chuck was a man of many passions and talents, with a profound love for art which he pursued with unwavering dedication throughout his life. An avid motorcycle enthusiast and devoted truck aficionado, Chuck found joy in the thrill of the open road and the rugged beauty of his vehicles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed casting lines into serene waters, mastering the art of pool, and relishing moments with cherished family and friends. Known for his meticulous nature, he approached every endeavor with passion and commitment, earning admiration as a “perfectionist”. His outgoing personality endeared him to everyone he met, effortlessly making new friends and delighting in witty banter and oldies music.
Chuck's infectious laugh and penchant for playful jokes brought light to every gathering, leaving indelible memories with all who knew him. He had a deep love for dogs and furry friends, finding comfort and joy in their companionship throughout his life. Chuck will be dearly missed by his buddies at Sparky’s, where he shared countless stories and laughter over the years.
Chuck was cared for and survived by his daughter, Laura Layton (John) of Levittown. He will be missed by his grandsons, John “J” (fiancé Lex Miller), and Logan Layton. He is also survived by his daughter, Patrice Pittman Kruk of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was predeceased by his parents Charles C. and Grace L. Eill (nee Barnett) and his sister, Louise E. Eill. He is survived by his sister Grace A. Contento (John) of Levittown, many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and numerous friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at James Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pa., 19056, followed by a burial at the Newtown Cemetery. Although Chuck will be missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
