Daniel was born in Penndel, to parents, Stanley Flynn and Helen Mangler. He graduated from Neshaminy High School. Daniel went on to establish a career as an electrician, ultimately founding and operating Dan Flynn Electric for over 20 years. In addition, Mr. Flynn proudly served in the US Army Reserve.
Daniel was an active member of Holmesburg Fish and Game in Philadelphia, and Conestoga Gun Club in Southampton. He enjoyed nothing more than puttering in his shed, working on home construction projects (for both him and Kenneth), and watching NASCAR every Sunday–a reminder of his time at Langhorne Speedway as a young child.
Daniel also enjoyed visiting his timeshare in Massanutten, Virginia first with his wife and sister, and later with his entire extended family He enjoyed racing go karts and endlessly swimming. Daniel was a lifelong animal lover, adopting his late cat Loretta (for whom he built several pieces of furniture), as well as dogs Pebbles and Fluffy.
Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Flynn, brothers Stanley and Robert, sisters Janet, Patricia, and Elizabeth.
Daniel is survived by his son, Kenneth Flynn, daughter-in-law Eleanor Cupp, grandchildren Kellen Flynn and Quinlan Flynn, all of Bowie, MD.
A viewing is scheduled for February 29, 2024 from 11:00am-11:30am, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road Levittown, PA followed by a funeral service at 11:30am, and interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA.
