Don, as he was affectionately known, had a jovial personality and an awesome sense of humor. He had the best laugh and took great delight in making others laugh. He had such a positive outlook and always saw the best in everyone and every situation. Everyone who met him, loved him. He made many, many friends during his lifetime. He will be greatly missed.
Born with a sparkle in his eye to the late Clifton and Louise Perpente in Bristol, PA, Donald lived in Bucks County his entire life, graduating from Wilson High School in 1973.
Don was employed by Hussey Marine Alloys for 22 years as a heat treater. He was also a substitute bus driver for the Pennsbury School District for many years. He was also a truck driver for Pennsylvania Steel in Bensalem.
Don attended Calvary Full Gospel Church. He served in the choir whenever he was able. He loved music and singing (and whistling). His voice also echoed within the walls of Christian Life Church, where he once was an active member. He was most active with First Presbyterian Church of Levittown where he enjoyed working with the youth, singing in the choir, participating in plays, and managing and running the church softball team.
Don's zest for life was as infectious as his laugh. He was an avid sports fan and loved The Phillies and The Eagles. He also loved snow skiing and riding his waverunner. His time in the summer months was filled with riding on the river.
Blessed with 52 years of marriage to his beloved Cindy, Don's legacy of love continues through his son David, his cherished grandchildren Madison and Kendall, and his cousin Barry (Debbie) Perpente. His extended family, including his sister Terry, several nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends, will carry forward his light.
Preceded in his journey to the Kingdom by his son Donny, his parents Clifton and Louise Perpente, and his sister Susan Shrewsbury, we are confident that Don now rests in the arms of the Lord.
Family and friends are invited to attend Don's funeral service Saturday, March 1, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM with a calling time beginning at 10:30AM at the Calvary Full Gospel Church, 676 Lincoln Highway, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Dons' honor to the American Heart Association.
