Ed Simmons, beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on May 15th at the age of 54. A man of unwavering strength and selfless love, Eddie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and quiet leadership.
He was born in Bristol and was a graduate of Pennsbury High School in 1989. From a young age, he shouldered responsibilities well beyond his years, stepping up to guide and support his family with remarkable maturity and grace. He was the kind of person who always put others before himself — a steady presence, a trusted confidant, and a rock for those lucky enough to know him.
Despite life's challenges, including a near-death experience that he courageously overcame, Eddie faced each day with gratitude. He found happiness and solace simply sitting around a campfire. Family and friends were his sanctuary, and he shared that love generously with those around him.
To those who knew him, Eddie was a source of warmth, wisdom, navigation and unwavering support. His love was loud, and it was always felt — in his actions, his sacrifices, and his deep, unshakable loyalty.
Though he has left this world, Ed’s spirit will live on in every life he touched, in every story, and in every quiet moment of strength we find within ourselves. He will truly be missed by many.
Eddie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Leo Osmani; his mother, Carolyn Simmons and father, Ed Simmons; his grandchildren, Ari Osmani and Wyatt; his siblings and their spouses, Michelle and Harold Baptiste, Jeanette and John Specca, Michael and Amy Simmons; his girlfriend, Lee Battista and her children, Sierra, Leanna and Crew; 9 nieces and nephews, Justin, Jordan, Jocelynn, Joel, Connor, Haley, Kailyn, Ryan and Leona; his great nieces and great nephews, Arianna, Lilly, Adriel and Jacob; and a host of many close friends.
A memorial gathering for Eddie will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
