
Edward W. Cottrell Sr., of Bristol, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Aria Health Torresdale Campus. He was 72. Born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Mr. Cottrell has been a resident of Bristol Township for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Stakeout Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department until retiring in 1985 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge #5. Mr. Cottrell was a Navy veteran of Korea. He served as an assistant coach with the Kensington Ramblers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Cottrell was the beloved husband of Eleanor M. Cottrell for 50 years. He was the loving father of Edward W. Cottrell Jr. of Lansdale, Denise Kayser of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Michael Cottrell of Croydon, Debbie Delaney of Levittown, Christine Morris of Levittown, Linda Mancuso of Philadelphia and Steven Cottrell of Philadelphia. He will also be sadly missed by 21 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, his sister Dolores Jordan of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, his aunt Dorothy Neuman of Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment is private.
