
Born and raised in North Philadelphia, Eugene has resided in Lower Bucks County since 1953 and attended Delhaas High School. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish.
He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran.
He was the owner and operator of Schmidt Plumbing and Heating from 1979 until 1987 and then went to work for the Public Works Department where he remained until retiring in 2007.
Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Fallsington American Legion Post #834 and the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215. He was also a member of the Bristol Yacht Club and the Neshaminy State Marina and enjoyed fishing with his cousin.
Beloved husband of Joan A. for 55 years, Mr. Schmidt was the loving father of Jeanette S. Mora (Robert), Margie Schmidt, Lynn Schmidt-Hickman (Terry), Marianne Schmidt-Mitchell and the late William Joseph.
He will also be missed by 9 grandchildren; Kirstin Ritt (Bryan), Ian Schmidt (Christine), Austin Mora, Sierra Hickman, Darius Mitchell, Kaylin Mora, Julia, Joey and Parker Hickman, and two great grandchildren; Evie and Aloysius Ritt.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at precisely 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 29th at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd., Fairless Hills. Relatives and friends are also invited to meet Saturday, May 29th, at precisely 2:30p.m., please arrive by 2:15p.m., at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Schmidt's name can be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church or to the Charity of the donor's choice
