Born in Philadelphia, he was a Fairless Hills resident for almost 50 years. He was a graduate of Temple University with bachelor's degree in History. He met the love of his life, Joanne, while employed at A&P Market in Philadelphia. They were married in 1976. They eventually settled in Fairless Hills. Fran went to work for the Bristol location of the US Postal Service, retiring in 2015.
Fran was an avid reader of anything he could get his hands on. Fran loved to walk, a habit he picked up with the Postal Service. Fran adored sweets, including ice cream and cookies, and of course, his beloved Joanne. He never missed a Notre Dame football game, and despised USC.
He will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters-in law. He was one-of-a-kind; loved by all.
Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Clare Ryan; his son, Francis; and his sister, Ronnie Alba; Fran is survived by his beloved Joanne; his son, Patrick; his sisters, Kathleen McTighe (Tom), and Clare McAneny (Patrick); and many nieces and nephews.
All services for Fran will be private.
