Gregory G. Donaghy

Gregory G. "Doc" Donaghy passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 2, 2010, Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 62 years young. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James Donaghy and Carrie Solomon-Donaghy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Ann. He was employed with Window Wizards and Triangle Fire and Safety for many years. At the age of 16 years, he joined the Edgely Fire Company, Station 10 as a Junior Firefighter. Through the 46 years of service, Greg has helped design numerous fire trucks, designed a Station 10 calendar, and has also taught fire safety prevention and the D.A.R.E. program at local schools. Greg also graduated from numerous fire safety training programs, and with this, he achieved the position of Chief Engineer. Greg is survived by Patricia (Connor), his loving wife and best friend of 26 years. He was the devoted father of Darla Jean Donaghy of Parkland, Tracie Donaghy of Langhorne, Dawn Trojan (Russell) of Levittown, Kimberly Palaio (James) of Oakford, Kelly Donaghy (fianc, David) of Morrisville, Gregory Donaghy of Levittown and Kerri Donaghy of Levittown. He was the loving grandfather (Poppy) to Racheal and Alice Ann Trojan of Levittown, and Jimmy and Jonathan Palaio of Oakford. He is also survived by two brothers, James and Gary, one sister, Ellen Rice, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, from 8:00 until 9:30 am, at the Edgley Fire Company #1, 1200 Edgley Road, Levittown, PA. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edgley Fire Company at the above address.
