

Howard “Guy” Ortlip, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2025. He was a longtime resident of Bucks County.
Guy was born in Philadelphia, PA to John and Geraldine Ortlip. He graduated from Harry S Truman High School and attended Bucks County Community College . He later became a Union Carpenter with Local 167. A true entrepreneur at heart, Guy also had part ownership in the Tanning Zone Salon.
Guy was a thrill-seeker who loved motorcycles and raced bikes. He had an adventurous spirit, a generous heart, and was a known animal lover—especially devoted to his beloved dog, Martha. Guy generously volunteered with the ACT-2 Veterans group, using his carpentry skills to support the mission of the veteran-led nonprofit organization. Also a proud fan of the Phillies and Eagles, he loved watching the games with his mom.
Guy is preceded in death and now reunited with, his father John F. Ortlip, and his niece Logan Spigelmyer.
He is survived by his mother Geraldine Ortlip (née Smiley); his sisters Wendy Haston (Michael) and Mishell Spigelmyer; his niece Kelsey Murray (Joe); his nephews: Jack Haston, Clay Spigelmyer, and Luke Spigelmyer; and his cousins: Darlene Smiley Hewitt, William, and Tina Mellor.
Guy was blessed with lifelong friendships and is fondly remembered by his best friends, Mike Suter and Sean Grimes.
At a young age, Guy was treated at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, eventually becoming the poster boy for the hospital due to his involvement and resilience—an honor that followed him into adulthood. He will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, and unwavering love for others. He was also a Gift of Life Donor, and his legacy continues through the lives he touched.
