

He was born in Baltimore, MD, and was raised in Havertown and Narberth, PA. After graduating from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, he attended Boston College and St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia. He earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and after his Internship and Residency at Jefferson he moved to Bucks County in 1970 where he headed the Emergency Dept. at Lower Bucks Hospital for eight years. Dr. Luscombe spent the rest of his 40 year career as a family physician in the Levittown area. He was much loved by generations of his patients. He was on the Family Practice Staffs of Lower Bucks Hospital and Saint Mary Medical Center and was a member of the Bucks County and Pennsylvania Medical Societies.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Pfister), of 55 years and his four children; Brian (Rachael) of Charlotte NC, Liane (James) Willis of Denver, CO, James (Anne) of Gibbsboro, NJ, and Kevin. PopPop loved his family and his 10 grandchildren; Cameron, Zachary, Sara, Reece, Brynn, Robbie, Isabella, Vincent, Grace,and Alex. Also his two sisters, Susan Luscombe, MD, of Miami, FL, and Jill Luscombe, DVM of Villanova, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert A. Luscombe, MD, and Sally (McHugh) of Narberth, PA.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, with a viewing from 11 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken PA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his name may be made to Special Olympics of Bucks County or to Wounded Warriors.
