

Ike was born in Lacoochee, Florida to parents Isaac Whitter Sr and Mildred Sermons. After graduating from Moore Academy in 1949, Ike decided to leave Florida and joined the United States Air Force. After attending basic training at Lackland Airforce Base, Ike spent a short time in Virginia before making his way to McGuire Air Force Base where he served for 35 years as a Water Plant Engineer. Ike was loved and well respected at McGuire for being an amazing supervisor and friend.
After retiring from McGuire, Ike became an avid bowler. He also loved Volkswagen cars and was known for his blue Volkswagen Beetle and personalized license plate with the phrase, “Ike’s Bug”.
Ike was known for always helping people in need and always rooted for the underdog. Ike instilled the importance of education, strong work ethic, not only to his children, but also to his grand and great-grandchildren. He absolutely adored spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren whether in person or via FaceTime and always had gems of wisdom, words of encouragement and vivid memories/stories throughout his lifespan.
Ike is now reunited with his wife Ollie Whitter; his sons Darrell Green (Gwen) and Isaac Whitter III; his father Isaac Whitter Sr; and his mother Mildred Holloman-Sermons.
Ike leaves behind two loving children: Todd (Lisa) and Deirdra (King); two grandchildren: Chaad and Courtney; a grandson-in-law Towan; four great-grandchildren, Ahmir, Aalee, Asiyah, Ayyub; brother-in-laws and sister-in laws; several nieces and nephews; and extended family who will miss him dearly.
His viewing will be held at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, on March 31, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Going Home Service at 11:30 am. A burial with full military honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940.
His legacy of love and resilience will live on in the hearts of family, friends, community members and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
