James E. Filer

Born and raised in Gloucester City, NJ, Mr. Filer was an original Levittown homeowner in Bristol Township since 1953 and was one of the original founders of the Levittown #2 Fire Company.

He was the owner/operator of Jim's Lock Shop.

A proud United States Navy World War II veteran, Mr. Filer was a member of the local American Legion Post and Chester Terchon VFW Post 5542, and was a member of the PT Boat Museum in Tennessee.

Beloved husband of the late Ruth M. (Koch), Mr. Filer is the loving father of James E. Filer Jr. (Christine) and William T. Filer (Gail).

He is the devoted grandfather of Jay Filer III, Miranda Doane (Fred), Kim (Al) Giangrante, Nicole, Laura and Ashley Filer; and proud great grandfather of 9.

Mr. Filer will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service at 1:30 pm, on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Filer's name may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
