

He was the eldest son of the late Joseph and Eileen McLaughlin. He was predeceased by his brother Jack McLaughlin, and his sister Patty McLaughlin.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving companion, Tammie George; his son Anthony and his wife Heather; his brother Michael McLaughlin and his wife Theresa, his sisters Susan and Judy McLaughlin, his nephews Michael and his wife Nataliya, Dan and his wife Deanna, his great nephew Jack, and his aunt Pat Gagne, and numerous cousins.
In his younger years, Jim served as a Paratrooper in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1974. Jim worked for UPS and retired after 46 years of service driving tractor trailers. He received a Safe Driving award every year for 46 years!
Jim was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4215.
Jim was a kind and generous person to everyone he came in contact with. He never went to anyone's house empty handed; he provided rides to anyone who was in need. Jim was affectionately nicknamed by his nephews as "Uncle Pocket Bones" as he would always have a dog bone in his pocket for the family dog.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA 19056. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 66 Levittown Pkwy, Levittown, PA 19054.
Burial with full military honors will occur Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.
