James E. Symington

James E. Symington James E. Symington died on Sunday, April 7, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was 68. Born in Lackawanna, NY and raised in Orchard Park, NY, Mr. Symington moved to Lower Bucks County 36 years ago. He was a software engineer for Veridian, located in Warminster, for nearly 20 years. An avid sailor, Mr. Symington enjoyed time on his sailboat with his family and friends. Mr. Symington served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Sablefish. He enjoyed both the Yankees and Phillies baseball teams. Son of the late William and Audrey (Smith) Symington, Mr. Symington is survived by his wife of 45 years Susan M. (Knapp). He is the loving father of Sandra Fellers of Levittown, Christine Symington of Princeton and Traci Alcuri (Louis) of Levittown. He will also be sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren, Sofia, James, Joshua, Jakob and Oliver; his brother, John W. Symington of Vinton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invted to call on Saturday, from 1:00 until 2:30 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm. Interment will be held privately.
