Janice Ashton Hoffman

Born July 22, 1943, she was the daughter of Paul and Dora Gregory (Waldron), she grew up in Philadelphia and later moved to Lower Bucks County with her 5 siblings. Janice graduated in 1961 from Dobbins Technical High School.

On May 18, 1968, she married the love of her life, Edward (Pete) Hoffman; together they built a wonderful life filled everyday with both joy and laughter. Janice was a beloved mother her son, Edward M. Hoffman, II (Pete), whom she shared a special connection. She lovingly shared her son with her daughter-in-law, Sherri, whom she called her daughter. One of her greatest joys in life was being a Mom-Mom to Peter and Michelah and every experience she had with them.

Janice proudly had a 53-year career in real estate where she started as a selling agent and quickly became a broker. Then in 1992, she opened her own Title Insurance Company which she operated for more than 20 years until she decided to semi-retire and work part time. She was amazing with numbers and problem solving; so was successful in this career as a result.

Janice loved traveling; her travels took her to from Disney to Las Vegas to California to Hawaii and Alaska to Italy and the Mediterranean plus many other destinations. She enjoyed photography and taking pictures during her traveling adventures. When she wasn’t traveling, Janice enjoyed cooking. Whether it was one of her fantastic soups or her specialty veal recipe nobody was disappointed. When relaxing at home she enjoyed spending time with her husband and one of their dogs. Her Sunday mornings were spent at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Janice was a giving person, often giving without thought of herself. Her strong presence in our lives will be missed.

Services for Janice are being offered on Wednesday, June 21st, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Levittown, PA. A mass will be said in her honor on Thursday, June 22nd,10:00 AM at Saint Michael the Archangel Church also in Levittown, PA, with burial immediately following at Tullytown Cemetery.
