John worked for many years as a printing press operator. In his free time, he enjoyed Corvettes, working outside, and completing 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles. He also enjoyed walking his dog, Benji, and talking with neighbors along the way. John volunteered at the senior center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Bugter, and his siblings, Ann, Thea, and Robert.
John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nina Bugter; his daughters, Lisa Newton (Ron) and Maryann Braun (Karl); stepchildren, Danny and Donna; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his brother, Tony (Debbie).
A Visitation will be held at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, on April 25, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm.
